What happened on 9.1.11?

The last hurrah before the reopening of university for many, an after Tribe Ice party for others, whatever it was, this installment of Not Another EEEmpire Beach Lime (NAEBL) was enough to get people out of their seats. A simple formula this time, all inclusive bands for those interested, all encouraged to bring coolers with the promise of music and vibes upon arrival.

This lime was held in honor of two foreign based Triple E Family members Jonathan Morgan and Deon Joseph, who returned to Trinidad from their studies of Law and Medicine respectively to join the excitement. The organizer of the Port of Spain shuttle, Afiya Hopson explained, "it seemed hard [getting people] until the night before because Trinidadians are too last minute." She explained gauging who was confirmed to come out was the most difficult task. She said "People told me they were coming from long before, but when I tried to confirm they said maybe and I can't handle that"

However it swung, people ended up on the beach, someway, somehow. The day was not without problems, when the first maxi loads of people arrived on Tyrico Bay, it was in the midst of what seemed like torrential rain-showers. Tamika Johnson explained she and her friends thought they wasted their money to come to the beach, she said "I thought the rain was going to spoil the day". Even after the sun cleared up she felt bored on the beach for some time. This was short lived however as the arrival of the Red Bull Pinzi (music vehicle) and more people converted the otherwise regular Tyrico bay into a beach cooler festival of sound and "loose waist".
The day after, Afiya Hopson was happy to deliver the messages sent by attendees, most who agreed that in paying for their transport to the beach lime they spent the best $60.00 of their lives. Just ask Chelsea Sue who captioned her photo album something along those lines...

The day featured a drinking contest, with drunken master Akeel Bernard challenging one and all to drink a beer or smirnoff faster than him. Between this, Nintendo Wii games, twister and the unrestricted wide open beach patrons found their own spot of relaxation and their own places to palance. From 5.30pm, Dragon Sounds stole the show and sent the crowd into a frenzy. Crews like Chemistry Crew and Mud Inc pioneered the wine-ing session. Nothing substandard as the Tyrico ambience and the dimming light only served to accentuate the blissful experience. By now all other activities were packed up, leaving the entire beach front a place of bare jubilation and ultimate freedom. The event remained in full swing until 7pm when patrons were reminded for the full nine yards and the party experience all night long, they need to purchase a ticket to one of the EEEmpire's parties.

The next NAEBL will  be held on Tyrico Bay, on Easter Monday 2011 (April 25th). This time it will be done to kick off the auspicious White Jersey Season. Mark your calendars.
