Tropical LUAU, a Hawaiian Island party actually set in Hawaii... Well if you were there maybe that's what you would have said..
The lush shrubs, coconut trees, palms, plants and the pool in and around the party dance floor could have fooled anyone.
The pathway to it all lit by Tiki Lamps. Patrons are allowed to walk on the Red Carpet around the corner to the Tropics.
'Life in the Tropics is so much better' because the tropical breezes keep patrons cool. The pulsating music from the speakers reverberates off the tree trunks to create a perfect echo, a unique blend of sound and nature. Once on the Isle of Maui no one spoke english anymore, the language was 'fun'.
Aloha! And a random girl runs across your path with a water gun filled with tequila! Its hard to stay bored here, as besides gyrating one can weave their way through the crowd, around the pool to the snowcone vendor. Snowcone Man ITEA, gladly whips up some with milk, or just with syrup, spiked with some Eldorado White Rum. Just the perfect blend for your palate.
Coconut Vendor Joe, maybe the only person more excited than us happily carves a coconut into a cup without looking. He responds to the cheers of the ladies and serves you your coconut water and Johnny Walker ice cold. Everyone served in coconut cups just as riche loops croons through the speaker box and the crowd roars in appreciation of the music. Turning to the left
Pablo D Dancer holds his party cup in his left hand and his chain in his right and jumps to the beat of
"Party Cup". His time is short lived however because the passa music was few and far inbetween leaving maximum room for rubba dub dub dancehall. 90% Flexing music kept the crowd going -- Shomari switching roles for the night, with Selecta Mikey on the set leaving Shomari to call the entire crowd to attention and sway them as he pleased. This already mixed blend of music and vibes under the supervision of alcoholic beverages was enough to send even the most conservative person like
Makini Hughes kil-kih-tae-ing into the pool.

Time passes fast, but not fast enough! Seven hours of party, four hours of the party in full swing was enough to fill the avourachous appitites of even the most seasoned partykeeters. Lincoln Douglas is as seasoned as any Trinidadian who has partied consistently from 15 - 23 would be. He wrote on the facebook event wall the day after the LUAU, "closer to perfection every time". Maybe his exaggeration was a bias assumption or the product of liquor. Maybe he said this because any person with enough alcohol in their system will enjoy anything, anywhere... But something was done right to get a party full of people in the middle of the month, in the middle of Valsayn and in the middle of exams to palance from 8pm till 12.00 the next morning. Tropical LUAU) during the summer" When asked to clarify he explained the time of the event was unorthodox, not often do we party from 4pm till 12pm on a Sunday.
